Our Team

Our History

Our History

From our humble beginnings trying to help one interpreter and his family our team has grown to a small group of Veteran's and supporters all with the goal of saving Afghan lives by providing food, clothing, medical support, and funds for the transition to the United States.

We are working directly with fellow Veteran organizations under the Afghan Evac coalition to uphold America's promise to those brave individuals who worked, fought and sacrificed beside us on the battlefield.

We cannot rest until all those who served  with us and their families are safe.  They are at risk under the oppressive regime currently in Afghanistan.

Our History

Our History

Our History

Our founder, Michael "Mike" Crandall, is a retired veteran who last served in Afghanistan in 2008.   During this deployment he had the honor of working with an interpreter named Wahid whose family "adopted" him.   For those who are unaware the Afghan interpreters who served with us risked their lives on a daily basis in their support of the U.S. / NATO military.  Veterans see those who served with us as "brothers in arms" and not "refugees".

Afghan Promise was started after an original crowdfunding website refused to release funds meant for Afghanistan.  They would release to a U.S. Charity/Non-Profit and thus Afghan Promise was born.

Our Mission

Our History

Our Mission

Our initial mission was to raise funds to help evacuate Wahid's family.  This mission has grown beyond this one family to a group of over 40 families looking to be evacuation.

All of the families have direct connections to serving with U.S. Military personnel.  Most have submitted the paperwork for their Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) and are now awaiting U.S. State Departement approval and evacuation process.

We seek the funding  to support these at risk Afghans while we work with the State Department to garner the SIV approvals and other documentation requirements to evacuate these families in hiding.
